The Lata Iskandar Waterfalls, on the way up to Cameron Highlands from Tapah, is an ideal picnic area and favourite stopover. Its surrounding jungle is home to one of the largest variety of exotic insect and plant life in the world. Traditional earthenware pottery is crafted at Kampung Kerayung. The surrounding jungle is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna including exotic insects. A handicraft bazaar sells exotic handicrafts of the Orang Asli (Aborigines) and beautifully crafted traditional earthenware pottery. Other amenities include food stalls and restrooms. Iskandar waterfall is one of the finer and more impressive examples of nature that is easily accessible to most people. Lying approximately midway between Tapah and Cameron Highlands, this multi-tiered fall, has pools at the base of each tier.
Many visitors take the opportunity to go for a short dip in the cool water of these pools, which have their origins up in the higher reaches of the surrounding highlands. Nature lovers can go slightly off the beaten track and get to enjoy the rich flora and fauna. Near the base ofthe falls, visitors will find a handicraft bazaar where an assortment of craft is available for one's selection. Look out especially for the craft of the Orang Asli, the indigenous people of the country. A row of stalls serving drinks and snacks have been set up nearby for the convenience of the people who stop to enjoy the sight of Iskandar waterfall.
